Baby Peanut

My fifth child was due September 15th, 2008. She came June 20th, 2008, 13 weeks early, 27 weeks gestation. She weighed in at just 1 lb. 12 oz. I use to think that it was incredible to hear of babies that survived who were born so early. Now that I've watch my daughter live through this experience it is nothing short of miraculous.

I still can't believe that she and I are still here today and we're both still in the midst of our journey. Here's a picture of my little baby peanut, Luciana (Luci) Eleanor Walton.

New Life

I've recently gotten a new "lease" on life. After spending the last 6 months recovering from preeclampsia each day is a gift. I'm still trying to put the pieces of me back together but at one time I didn't think I'd make it out of the hospital alive, so just being here is great for now. Thus the title of my blog, still hanging around. That's what I feel that I do most days, just hang around. There are moments when I glimpse little flashes of what I was like before and days when I wonder when I'll feel capable again so I just take baby steps and when things fall apart I let myself cry.
